I wish to say a huge "thank you" to all who have supported SCHF and made possible the purchase of the Navex machine for JCUH.

Since birth I have suffered from heart disease and when 8 years old was one of the first children in the country to undergo a hole-in-the-heart operation plus the repair of torn valves. At that time the only hospital carrying out the procedure was Hammersmith. This entailed numerous long journeys, causing great financial and emotional trauma to my parents. Having this machine in the local community will mean so much to patients and their families who will have easier access to the best treatment available.

On Thursday 16th Feb (2006) I was fortunate to receive treatment from Dr. Murray, using the machine. It was a lengthy procedure lasting 4 hours and required great skill from the consultant. Due to the cutting edge technology of the Navex the process was greatly aided.

It is impossible to put into words the gratitude felt, But once again, "thank you" to all who have given time, finance and commitment to your charity.

January 2014 will be the sixteenth anniversary of heart bypass operation carried out at the former South Cleveland Hospital; for which I am eternally grateful.
