Fundraising Efforts

Following the enormously successful event hosted by SCHF Committee members Terry & Heather Foreman last year, they organised another hugely enjoyable vent at Middlesbrough Golf Club. Approximately 80 people attended, the food was fabulous and the music, again provided by Last Anthem was brilliant. The raffle and auction raised over £4000. Thank you especially to Terry & Heather, Last Anthem and all who came and spent money! We are, as ever, extremely grateful to the generosity of local business for the donation of raffle and auction prizes it is difficult in these economic climes, but your kindness was appreciated.

Ray Harker organised a Charity Day for us at Hunley Golf Club where he is this year’s Captain. We are so grateful to him, the Club and the 150+ golfers who signed up and played on a beautiful if breezy course. They raised over £4000 including a donation of £1500 from the Wood Group. Thank you so much and we are delighted you hope to repeat this next year

Yarm School Association (Parents Committee) chose SCHF as their Charity for their 2023 Summer Ball – Glastyarmbury. A festival themed event – we were the beneficiary of all funds raised at the Auction – including the Silent Auction. In total, this raised £7,200 which is incredible. There are so many thank yous – but especially to Amanda Stephen & Louise Mitchell for their astonishing hard work and support of us and to Ruby Davies, SCHF Secretary who attended their meetings and was the link person. Huge thanks to all who donated Auction Prizes

Running from the 17th - 20th May - the Nunthorpe Players again supported us. What a fabulous few performances we enjoyed - watching the very funny play – Volunteers – set in a Charity Shop! Even our collecting tin and brochure made it on stage as props. Thank you Nunthorpe Players for choosing us – over the performances – selling raffle tickets and SCHF goods we are raising quite a sum of money but more importantly, raising peoples awareness of the SCHF and what it does. . Big thank you to all who took part and attended – especially to Mike Taylor SCHF Committee member for nominating us and putting in so much hard work.

Huge thank you to Sam Hussain, Vice Chair of the SCHF and the Dorman’s Club for organising and hosting a fabulous Soul and Motown evening. MTown were amazing and had everyone up dancing.
