Recent Donations
The South Cleveland Heart Fund exists to support the Cardiothoracic unit at The James Cook University Hospital by providing funds for equipment and training and research that would not be currently available through NHS funding. So far it has raised well over £1million to support all aspects of the Unit and below this page provides details of some recent donations that we have received. We would like to take the opportunity to say a "Big Thank You!” to all our supporters without whose generosity we could not do the vital work that we do

Heart fund is chosen charity
TO celebrate reaching its latest safety target, Marathon Oil UK has donated £5,000 to the South Cleveland Heart Fund.
The charity was randomly selected for the donation after it was put forward by employee Lee Oxley whose wife Amy works on ward 29 at James Cook.
Lee and Amy are pictured here handing over the £5,000 to South Cleveland Heart Fund chairman Adrian Davies.

Kaleidoscope of Dance 2015
Hazel Munroe presenting Keith Robson of SCHF with a cheque for £2500
The Munroe School of Dancing is a local dance school established in Middlesbrough since 1982. Every two years we produce a variety show and give the proceeds to a local charity.
This year we choose the Heart Fund appeal, as so many people are affected by heart illness, and we felt it was a worthwhile cause.
The girls (and one little boy!) range from young people in their twenties, to little ones of four years old. We began rehearsing in November and rehearsed two nights a week until the show was ready. We were very fortunate to be able to use the excellent facilities at Ormesby School on Saturday 14th February 2015. We managed two shows and had a very good audience for both shows.
Although the pupils all dance for fun, they certainly enjoyed the day! It made us all, myself, my teachers, parents and pupils very proud when we managed to raise £2,500 on the day. We were also pleased to be offered ‘match funding’ by Santander, up to another £700 which made the grand total for the appeal of £3,200.

Kirsty Suddes and Helen Bayles
Great North Swim
After Helen's Mam had a heart attack in November and was treated at the James Cook hospital, Helen and Kirsty decided they wanted to show their appreciation for all of the team's hard work. So they decided to raise money for the South Cleveland Heart Fund by competing in the Great North Swim.
It was Helen's first open water swim and they completed a one mile swim together, with Kirsty completing a further two mile swim the following day. With great support from friends and family they raised £1148 for SCFH.
