South Cleveland Heart Fund (SCHF) relies heavily on the generosity of its supporters to enable the fund to carry out its mission, which is to raise as much money as possible for the Cardiothoracic Unit at James Cook University Hospital.We are often amazed at the readiness of people to support our cause and the ingenious ways they choose to raise funds for our appeal.The stories of those who support us are often personal and we thank them for sharing them with us.

Benidorm or Bust' Rally raises £1000

They got as far as Lloret-del-Mar and raised £1000 for us in the guess the mileage competition, and donations on Just Giving.

The money was raised by the Club through raffles/ in lieu of Christmas cards in appreciation of SCHF purchasing a Defibrillator and training staff at the Club.

Adrian Davies received a cheque fro £5,000 from Dr Rajesh Nanda, Consultant orthopaedic surgeon at North Tees Hospital. The presentation was held at Middlesbrough Golf Club, Brass Castle lane. Also attending were Dr Shushma Acquilla , President of the Indian Doctors Association and Mike Overy the Leader of the Middlesbrough Erimus Rotary Club Loving Hearts project which has now raised £80,000 for the heart fund appeal. Other Rotarians and committee members were also present.
Adrian Davies thanked Rajesh and all the people involved in the fundraising. He said that the fund was now at £940,000 with another £60,000 needed to reach the target. He hoped that local businesses would contribute.
The fund has already given James Cook University Hospital £500,000 to improve the existing scanner to make it the best available. The remaining £500,000 will go towards the new 3T MRI scanner which when installed will work faster and with better quality images.
St Aidan`s RC School in Sunderland

This donation was raised through a Sponsored Coast–to–Coast Bike ride in July, by Wendy Scott, Barry Knevitt and Jennifer Cameron

The two hour zumbathon
The two hour zumbathon on saturday 24th October at the Acorn Centre at Acklam Grange School raised £1,000. Anderson Barrowcliff LLP Chartered Accountants sponsored the event so all profits could come to the South Cleveland Heart Fund.
