What is the South Cleveland Heart Fund?

Supporting the James Cook University Hospital Cardiothoracic Unit.
Registered Charity No. 1051565

The South Cleveland Heart Fund was founded in 1995 to raise funds to support the Cardiothoracic Unit at the James Cook University Hospital in its work and research. It is run by a committee chaired by Dr Adrian Davies, consultant cardiologist, and consists of other consultants, surgeons and unpaid volunteers. All committee members are volunteers and all monies raised are used to purchase items and equipment that will benefit the patients admitted to the Cardiothoracic Unit.

How do we raise funds?

Funds are raised from many sources. Grateful patients frequently show their appreciation with cash gifts. In many of these cases the donation may be increased with a tax repayment if the donor signs up to the Gift Aid scheme.
Volunteers organise many fund raising events. These include sponsored events, social evenings, coffee mornings and garden parties. Other fundraising activities have included a 'Magic Night' as well as jumble, plant and craft sales.
On Tuesday afternoons the Fund runs a stall in the hospital selling a variety of promotional wares and gifts.

How can you help?

You may like to make a donation, no matter how small, perhaps in the memory of a loved one.
You can organise a fundraising event to raise money in aid of the South Cleveland Heart Fund.
Come along to our Charity events - keep a look out in the local press for these.
We are always in need of quality items for the hospital stall and tombola/raffle prizes for our fund raising events.
